Alice

   [Revenge, revenge! XD]
The animagus ran swiftly through the corridors in the body of the fairly white kanine, similar to his own godchild's. And now she had simply vanished from where he had told her to stay until he came back seeing how couldn't simply walk her through the corridors. There was the fairly large pair of wings attached to her back and the pale green skin that everyone would notice once they laid eyes on Alice. Gabriel had known better than to leave Alice alone and with directions, it was almost a habit of hers to bounce out of line. Somehow it wasn't that she was alone and didn't listen to him, it was the thought of Brige finding Alice in her current state that had been bothering Gabriel once returning to the curtains to find nothing. The man could do great things once he got his hands on something valuble and Brige's full attention was to bring harm to Garbiel and Alice. Even the story why wasn't much of a secert seeing how Brige once had great respect for Clarissa until she broke a few rules that she herself had build to allow Gabriel to remain hidden in the castle.
His four paws hit the marble floor with a soft click! and then a clack!, something that Gabriel himself found quite hard to refrain from landing harder on the floor to make the same sound. He had just then took another turn to find himself staring down a full corridor of students, bending his ears back while his tail cowered to the ground. There was absolutely no way he'd walk through that crowd and have his tail or ears pulled again by the giggling crowd of girls like last time. Then again this was all for Alice so Gabriel faced the discision of taking a slight detour through the crowd. Gabriel sat highly on the ground, all four legs standing proudly while his long mouth opened into a snarl and barked madly, hoping to get the same reaction from the students nearest that cowered away from the students in the back. The animagus had just then ran through the crowd, barking as he still snarled to his left, then his right to scare back students. It wasn't rude, but nessecary.
Several paintings snickered from above where Gabriel sat, still a kanine, against the wall trying to think of where Alice would have gone or where Brige currently was. The figures painted on the canvas pointed at him, calling him 'Snuffles' while others simply pretending to wave a bone at Gabriel who hadn't liked the jokes at all. They had thought of him lower now, seeing how he would now be working here at the school rather than hiding in the shadows. This life seemed rather boring to him and was partly glad that Alice had caused some trouble for him to clean up. He had made a request to Clarissa to even find him a job that wasn't standing infront of a class all day and lecturing people over something stupid such as 'Vanishing Potion' or anything of the sort. Gabriel seemed to rather be hunted than to be innocent, something that most paintings had heard from Clarissa in her office.
Ah, the old fool is finally out and about. He was, Brige that is, was now striding through the corridors with a rather strange grin on his face. Perhaps he had found something out, something important that would end his hunger to do something destructive. The animagus still hadn't been sighted by Brige and crept on after him, carefull not to catch attention of any students who were fond of pets. It had been long since Brige stopped in the corridor, seeming confused of where he was going and then took another left, almost hestitant. Brige had then stopped once more, looking back at the other turn the corridor made. Where the hell are you actually going in the first place?, yelled Gabriel to himself. His black eyes were focoused on the feet of Brige, awaiting them to continue their walk. This was too boring, almost killing Gabriel on the inside who longed to find out where Brige was going.
There was the strange occurance of Brige wondering outside, looking slightly more pale in the sun than inside the castle. Gabriel himself had never seen the man wander off outside, something that made the animagus more keener in finding out where Brige was going. Students had also seemed to notice the rare occurance of Brige strolling outside, some murmoring while others where threatened by Brige with detentions. The teacher had then wandered off behind the school to a set of dumpsters, kicking aside bags. He had then left looking slightly disappointed while Gabriel stayed behind a bag thinking to himself, Why would Brige even come out to the dumpsters? Was he looking for something maybe? Most unlikely...
The aura of another aura that felt related to him swam to the air to reach his animal sixth sense, almost pleading for attention while it continued to grasp at the sense. Strangest thing was that this aura came from the large dumpster that had been shut, looking almost impacted from strong winds or just rough playing from fights. Whether it had been or not, Gabriel didn't give it much time to think about and instead shifted to human, patting out the creases in his new cloaks and jeans, then the white tee that had an arrow pointing down. He hadn't been given much clothing from Clarissa who promised to order more for Gabriel, seeing how she had a younger brother who wasn't much older than Gabriel. The animagus then ingored the dirt stain on the leg of his jeans, lifting up the roof of the dumpster to find a mutated Alice staring back at him, grinning dumbly while removing a banana peel from her wings in disgust.
"Why the hell are you in a dumpster? At least have some pride and hide somewhere with intelligence, not just anywhere, kiddo," chuckled Gabriel softly, shooting glances to students behind him while throwing his own cloak over Alice, quickly tightening the string that held his long black hair together as his godchild covered up. "What gave you the idea to not hide behind those curtains I told you to?"
"It felt stupid to be hiding somewhere while Brige kept on muttering rude things about me. Stupid  bloke, who does he even think he is? Did you even find out why Kaleb went looking for Themrus while you were out and about?" asked Alice, stepping out of the dumpster still very well covered to find tissue paper attached to the bottom of her shoes. "Well?"
"It really doesn't matter, we need to get you fixed first before anything..." The shape shifter had known better than to argue with her godfather for once he gave his final word it was the final except for recieving instructions from him. Then it was everyone for themselves. Most students hadn't even thought of why Gabriel who take a cloaked piece of 'stick' inside the school with him where he changed the story to a dead 'Man-Eating Plant' that he had found infront of the school. To anyone, it didn't really matter for no one paid attention to it all. It had given Alice a knew outlook of most students just didn't care or were slow on the mind.
"This is it or it should be..." Gabriel whispered, kicking open a door which revealed the darkest light and the coldest breeze Alice had ever experienced, feeling herself being put down on a moist warm chair while several lights could be heard turned on. The animagus had lifted the cloak from Alice's head, letting her keep it as he said to someone else in the room, "Ah, Abigalle. So you really made it. I thought Themrus wasn't expecting you last week."
"Well, you see some things change rapidly such as the heat in this room. Turn off that damned heater before I blast your head off! I most take on the climate change rather slowly than most people and you should've known that," hissed a femine voice behind the shape shifter. "Now, now. What have you brought me this time?"
"Alice, my godchild." The voice from Gabriel was suddenly protective as the chair was turned around for the shape shifter to face a woman, a very attractive woman whose face was pale, her elegant cheeks outlined with her pitch black hair while a thick bush of her bangs was pink, a very bright and neon pink. Dark eyeliner outlined her eyes while she wore a thick amount of purple lip stick, something that Alice found rather eye catching. The woman, Abigalle, then whispered back with a grin, "Rather ugly thing, isn't she?"
"That's not what she looked like before this morning so watch it Abigalle," growled the animagus, seating next to Alice. "Can't you do anything before Brige finds out about this damned mess? If not my ass is roast."
"I've saved your and Themrus's asses plenty of times so you hush. It'll be simple but'll we need a few things from Brige's office along with Ulthar's methods." Abigalle had crossed her legs, her black cloaks swaying in the cold breeze that swept through the room. Her finger nails had been painting a deep blue, the same color of her eyes. This was Themrus's sister then. This was the teacher that was to teach Alice how to protect herself from intruders.
*                                 *
         *                                    *
                           *
In the office at the end of the corridor where not too many students had wandered was the office of Clarissa Agretto who stood over her cauldron, throwing in books that meant nothing to her and papers that had sketches of old plans to hide Gabriel. Nothing was needed anymore, nothing at all. She had expected a very chaos year with a Verae, a killer, and a recarnation of an old wizard which was perhaps her own mistake. A mistake that Clarissa would never regret in her life for it had taught her new things and she loved to have the two girls in her school. Kaleb, her son, had now even seemed more happier than before. Perhaps it would be foolish to no think that Alice and Kaleb were close friends, just as Premidas and Kanni were. Yet now the new student's father had exited, leaving Clarissa's feelings low as ever with an urge to kill.
"I'll show that man who can't be principle! I do my job very well mind him! Isn't that correct, Dr. Vagne?" Clarissa was now speaking to a portrait who was leaning against the canvas, yawning as he answered, "Of course Clarissa, of course you do your job very well or else this school would be in ruins."The woman nodded her head, throwing more books into the cauldron as a could of smoke engolfed Clarissa's face. She had just then felt another memory drift of to her, another thought that had seemed very informing at the moment...

Kanni

   (yay! Rach lives! lol)

"Kan?" a voice rasped in the young girl's ear. She slowly turned her head and tried open her eyes; nothing. She tried to lift her eyelids once more but still something white held them down. A hand flew to her face to find a white cloth bandage had been wrapped around her head and covered her eyes. "Sh..." the voice whispered. "Ulthra said the light blinded you, that's all. You'll get your vision back in a few days. It's only temporary."
"Who are you?" Kanni finally asked, feeling the strains in her muscles begin to ache. "Who are you?" Kanni asked again when there was silence.
"Why, it's me. Can't you tell?" the voice asked and Kanni shook her head. "It's me, Prem!" the voice said again. It sounded familiar enough but she couldn't pin-point it right now. Then the person sighed. "Yes...Ulthra also mentioned that you would have a temporary memory loss that should be back by tonight."
"Ulthra? Where am I?" Kanni demanded and tried to pull the bandage off her eyes. Two warm hands wrapped with cloth around the knuckles grabbed her, pulling them away from the cloth. Kanni wrenched her hands away. "Where am I? Where's mom?" she asked again, getting annoyed. Then she felt an icy coldness sweep through her and another, deeper voice rumbled, "I told you not to mess with her until I came back, Mr. Anthen."
    "Sorry."
"Yes, I'm sure you are. Now step away; I have a memory to restore." the voice rumbled.
"What the hell--?!" Kanni began but suddenly felt a flood of inmages, feelings, and incidents rush through her. Suddenly she could remember who she was...where she was....and what had happened just minutes before. "How is that, Miss Merrane?"
"Good, Ulthra." she answered with a smile. Yes. Now she knew them all again. She was herself again. "Prem? You still there?"
"Yea." he replied. "You know me now?"
"Yes." she sighed and rubbed her temples. Her head throbbed slightly and she didn't dar venture back to the pain she had felt maybe only hours ago.
"Oh, just so you know, that new girl is a Salarsh." Premidas said hastily. "You know? Lara something...She was sorted into the Salarsh house. It's okay; she won't be bothering us much now. We're pretty safe. Salarsh and Tibileek have always been rivals along with all other houses."
"Lori Helken? The blue-eyes?" Kanni's voice became icy at the thought of her. What had that girl said to her? What had she called her? "Remus"? Who the hell was Remus? She stifled a groan of pain that seared through her head a minute and then ebbed away. "Ugh...That was enough pain to last me nine life-times..." she muttered.
"Yes. And I'm afraid this isn't the last time you will have to go through the trial, Miss Merrane. This "exraction" will be conducted every time you steal three powers." Ulthra mumbled. "Well, then, I'll be on my way. After all, with you dealt with Themrus and I must continue tending to the "Birge Problem"."
"See ya Kanni. Hope you feel better," Themrus said from a distance and Kanni jolted. She didn't even know she was there. Her hands groped towards her night desk and she assumed correctly; she was in the hospital wing again. "What are you looking for?" Premidas hastily asked before she knocked something over.
"Can I get some water? My throat is so dry," Kanni withdrew her hands until a glass was set in them. She tilted the cup to her lips and cherished the icy cold liquid washing down her parched and hot throat. She kept it in her palms and leaned her head back onto the pillow, being careful not to hit anything. "So how long am I gonna be blind?"
"Two or three days tops. At least you'll get off of homework until then."
"But I still have to go to class?" she asked hopefully, even though she knew the answer.
"Yea, you do. They'll give you an escort; maybe Alice, Kaleb, or me to help lead you to your classes. You can still listen to the lecture, can't you? And if there's book work they can read it to you, and have someone copy down notes for you."
"Just make my day, Prem," Kanni growled and a silence followed. Kanni then touched her head and was releived to feel that she had her normal ears back and that her skin was no longer fur-covered. She yawned. "What time is it?"
"It's about nine at night. We'll be heading back to bed soon."
"Prem, I need you to do me a favor. I've been neglecting Rothen a while; only quickly feeding him each morning. Will you take him into your room with the food so he can have someone around him until things cool down? Lately I've been stuck in bed for quite a while."
    "Sure. What's your lock code?"
"I can't tell you that." she nearly laughed, almost picturing his confused face.
"Well, how am I supposed to feed him and get him out then?"
"You'll take me up there to open it for you. C'mon, I could use a little walk to stretch out my stiff legs and see if my full memory is back."
Premidas sighed. "I think Alice is a bad influence on you."

Alice

"You surely must be joking..." rasped the shape shifter, looking down at the basin of water that loomed under her with contents that seemed to be either liquid or gas looming out from it's edges and sides. The girl had been leaning over it for what seemed to be hours, her purple hair always drifting into it and then to be pulled back out to find that the contents had seemed to clean the dirt from it unlike normal water. Alice didn't trust herself to touch what was in the basin, slightly nervous that Abigalle was looking over the basin herself at Alice, her eyes holding a gleam that Gabriel seemed to take notice of once pouring several more herbs into the basin, watching it spit out a cloud of silver smoke with a blue vapor following after it. This was an idea of Abigalle's, an idea that made the shape shifter wonder if she could trust this woman. The room still had the cold aroma filling in it and the darkness still loomed around them except for a candle that shone brightly beside Gabriel who sat in an arm chair, his legs slightly crossed with his head leaning against his arm.
This woman wanted Alice to submerge herself into a basin not even a fourth of her size. It seemed completely stupid when the shape shifter slid her hand in the contents to find that the basin stood as high as a pen. Surely Clarissa never meant to allow such a mental case into the school, yet Themrus was mostly right. The godfather of Alice seemed not to worry about Abigalle's plan, allowing the woman to continue dropping more herbs into the basin along with the rest of the contents. Finally the strange liquid shifted into a very soothing lilac with a new warmth filling the room. It gave off enough light to see that Abigalle was in much clothing except for jeans and a thin tee. There was absolutely no way that Alice would be submerge into the basin. Then again, how?
"I am not. Gabriel, when I told you to find someone to occupy I didn't say pick an idiot..." murmed Abigalle, watching the dismissing look on Gabriel's face and then gave the man a seductive smile, whispering, "You still remember us, don't you-"
"Abigalle! When I meant fix this, I meant now, not in a century!" hissed Gabriel, slightly rising from his chair and then patted Alice on the shoulder with comfort. "You're probally wondering how this is going to work, am I correct? Well, Abigalle will be explaining that to you since she's the expert here who is freezing like an ice cube."
"You stay in the North Pole for several months and come back, we'll see who will be admiring who once you come back. It's a nice treat really...ice cones, glacier slides, and-Oh! Don't give me that look Gabriel! Allow me to enjoy myself while fixing this godchild of yours!" sneered Abigalle, now throwing in several colored pebbles into the stone basin. "Now it's finally brewed enough. Alright Alice, all you have to do is concentrate on the basin and keep on concentrating until you're submerged. After that you should be cleaned!"
"Just stare at this?" asked Alice, beginning to concentrate on the basin. She had already noticed that there was ruins scratched into it's surface with mess. Alice knew that if she had paid more attention in Ulthar's class she might be able to recognize these yet she dismissed them, counting the waves of contents that poored out from the basin. Slowly sound began to fail from her. It began to grow silent and just when Abigalle said, "...see Gabriel? It's working perfectly!" air was knocked out from her lungs as water filled her mouth. Her hands had tried to slip out from the water, feeling herself breath it in and spit it back out. There was water all around her, filling her lungs and ears. Light shone through the water from above, something that Alice had tried to reach for before falling deeper into the water.
"Dammit! Are you trying to kill her!? Alice! Alice!!" It was as if a bubble had just popped loudly, the water leaving from Alice. Two hands were now shaking her wildly. Alice then hurled forward the water spilling from her mouth as she coughed, her frame of her body shaking wildly. Yet Alice didn't take account of the wings missing, the red hair shining brillantly in the water while her skin was the normal tint of peach. Abigalle seemed slightly surprised with herself, staring back at the basin while she rubbed her red chin thoughtfully. Gabriel hadn't took account of Alice's ressamblence of human either, already carrying her out of the door while yelling, "Next time we're finding Clarissa!"

Kanni

         (yay! ur back! ^^)

Kanni's hand was gripped tightly around Prem's shoulder as she stumbled through the halls after him. She was wearing light blue jeans that frayed at the bottom with a plain coral sleeveless shirt. Her feet were bare and the marble felt icy to her skin, she was glad she was on the carpet now again. They stepped into the elevator and Kanni could hear the shuffles of students next to her, almost able to see that they were shooting her glances of interest. "Ah! Hey, Kanni. Haven't seen you in a while," Brad's voice said from next to her as he clapped her shoulder. "Hey, what happened? You blind now?"
"Only temporarily, so back off," Premidas growled.
"Aw, come on. I'm only concerned about a friend," Brad cooed snidely.
"Yeah, right," Premidas shot back and jerked forward, leading Kanni from the elevator as it held at their stop. She stumbled out and took a turn, the rest of the way to her room almost memorized. Finally Premidas stopped and grabbed her hands, placing them around the cold metal lock. She fingered the soft buttons and could almost see each one of them. She quickly typed in the code and the lock sprang open. She pushed open the door and felt a light breeze coming from within.
"Holy shit!" Premidas breathed and pushed her slightly back.
   "What?"
"Kan, how big did you say that snake was going to get?"
"Only half an arm length, why?" Kanni felt her muscles tense as she heard a low hiss from the back of the room.
"It's gotten a bloody fifteen feet long! At least!" Premidas wailed and spun around, grabbing Kanni's arms and trying to tug her away. She wrenched her arm free and held her ground, her hands groping forward for the monster.
"Rothen?" she asked softly. "Rothen, where are you?" A low hiss answered from the back of her room. Kanni's gaze shot towards the noise. A sudden vision flashed behind her eyes, blitzing through her mind. It was a picture of Rothen, a huge dark-green, almost black, snake huddled by a ripped open fridge doors. Little meat peices lay scattered near him and he was gorging them down like a starving wolf. Her head let out a sear of pain, but left as soon as it had come. "Rothen?" Kanni asked again, staggering a step forward into her room, even though her instincts were pleading--screaming--for her to turn around and run.
Another low his of content came from her right where the fridge had lain. "Rothen?"
"Kannnnniiii?" a voice hissed back in some surprise. A sudden coldness brushed her fingers and she flinched. Clamping them around something strong she realized it was Rothen's neck. His scales neatly overlapped each other, all rough and icy. "What the hell happened?" she finally managed after fingering her snake's head to make sure he was facing her.
A sudden pain eruppted in her right arm as she felt two long fangs slide through. She screamed in mostly surprise and tried to pull away, but the grip was too tight. It suddenly pulled down, wrenching her off balance as she tumbled to the floor below. Then she felt the same icy coldness begin to wrap around her body and begin to tighten, making her gasp in pain, the air coming harder and harder to suck in. What was going on?! Rothen!
(sry so short! real busy today!! ^^;)

Alice

Pain tung nearly every piece of flesh that belonged to the shape shifter who attempted to walk through the corridors on her own with one arm around her godfather's neck. Several students had just greeted her and stared Gabriel down, expecting the man to be another new teacher who had just came to the school. There was no face from Premidas, Kanni or Kaleb, making Alice feel slightly depressed after she finally got on her own two feet like an infant. Snoop had even been sent to retrieve Kaleb somewhere from the building, coming across the two and brushing them away to walk straight through the crowd behind them. Several students were now, even a month early, considering what to decorate at the Halloween Ball that Clarissa had already planned, triggering a memory from Kaleb who had described his mother was crazy about holidays.
"Shit!" Alice's legs gave in once more under her, bringing her down to the ground while Gabriel staggered over his own steps in attempt to save Alice from falling. The bones in her legs were still shaky from Abigalle's basin trick, sending a shiver down the girl's spine as she stood back up on her own. Her head buzzed and she craved for sleep, nearly forgetting her own purple eye in the reflection of the windows and suddenly remembered the reason why everyone had been paying attention to her eyes. Gabriel had really noticed, pointing at birds sitting on the windows with a toothy grin and a much more cheerfull mood than his godchild. "Kiddo look at this instead of your legs and floor! Reminds me of the birds that we used to get when you were still little!"
She only smiled lightly with a strong attempt, feeling Gabriel lift her up from her feet and sit her on his own shoulders, pointing out the birds. They were indeed strange, just like the stares Alice began to recieve from portraits who snickered and pointed while motherly figures praised the gesture from Gabriel. The two were now looking out of the window, Alice's legs feeling much better as her godfather had just put her down to answer the calling from Mrs. Taint who called, "Gabriel! Come down to Clarissa's office! She has something to speak something with you!"
"Alright, I'll be there!" The man turned to Alice, tapping her forehead before whispered, "You go to your own room, kiddo and I'll be back soon!"
He was then gone, just like that with Mrs. Taint at his heel. Alice's thoughts felt a bit more lamer with nothing to do now without the advice and stories from Gabriel. She would enjoy shifting, yet a fear of turning into the winged creature filled her, making her retreat from the idea of shifting until consulting Themrus about this. Themrus knew so much, yet had such little time for anyone since he and Ulthar had been plotting against Brige for some time now. Alice began to walk to the set of stairs, whispering to herself, "Wonderfull, alone again."
There wasn't much to do except to visit the arcade and food court, something she hadn't done in awhile. Even though it was filled with chattering students she found herself an empty booth and sat alone, eating the salt from the salt chaker secreative as she listened to the conversations around her that had made it all interesting.
"Premidas and Kanni? Ew! At least Premidas could've picked someone cuter!"
   "Like you?"
"Exactly! And what's up with Kaleb and Alice?"
"I heard Kanni and the other kid had something going on!"
   "You can't be serious!"
"Guess who?" Two soft hands had covered the shape shifter's eyes, making the frown curl wildly and quickly into a grin while she felt a cheek rub against hers and asked, "Perhaps...Oh, let me guess. Kaleb?"
"Of course." He was now seated across from her swiftly pulling the salt chaker in her lap back to the table. Kaleb seemed more happy, with more energy than before. His hair was cleaned and the green stood out proudly while the green tints on his cheeks were covered by his collar or sleeves. The shape shifter felt rather happy to be with Kaleb once more, resting her eyes on the napkin in her hands she was folding into a paper airplane and asked, "Seen Kanni?"
"Yea...let's say there was something that happened that we'll need to discuss once we visit Kanni...you've sort of have your influence on her," chuckled Kaleb, pulling the finished airplane in Alice's hand to swirve several inches above the table into the air. "I take it you were just with Gabriel?"
"He needed to go with Mrs. Taint. And? See the new girl any time after the sorting, something which I missed due to..."
"...sneaking out? Actually, yeah...Once again we'll talk about that when we visit Kanni."
   "Why not right now?"
"I wanted to enjoy this free time."
   "You never had free time?"
   "...nope, hardly ever do."
"How convincing." It was regular talking between the two students who were closely examined by other students. There wasn't any other feeling that could replace the fluttering happiness in Alice, nothing at all besides imagining their holidays at her own house with Gabriel. Everything would be back to normal, everything would be alright...well, Alice didn't know of the mishaps in Kanni's room in the other corridors yet.

Kanni (ps. if u agree to the e-mail, let me make a second post before you do, pweez!! ^^; so i can get it sorted before we get into the climax...)

(meep...okies, can write now. besides, i have to talk to u about this story and entry. *Before you post check your e-mail for the message, okay? it's important. ^^)

"Rothen!" she gasped, her chest nearly caving in on her lungs. Suddenly a roar erupted from behind her and the snake hissed, curling away and thrashing about, making her gasp with pain. Another roar sounded from next to her as the snake suddenly recoiled, pulling off of Kanni, leaving her coughing and hacking on the floor. Prem roughly nudged her with his snout, trying to bury it under her stomach to slip her onto his back. Kanni pushed off and wrapped her fists in his mane as he swerved to the right, but suddenly stopped.
"Foolish girl! You think I'd let you escape that easily?" Lori's cold voice cackled. Premidas grunted in pain as he was suddenly shifted back into human form and plopped to the ground, Kanni landing atop of his back. She rolled to the side calling, "Rothen? Rothen, where are you?"
"Here, Kanni..." a little hiss answered, seeming strained with guilt and pain.
"What the hell did you do to him?!" Kanni roared in the direction she thought Lori was in. Lori laughed once more, and even harder when Kanni lunged forward and toppled through thin, empty air.
"I did nothing to your pathetic snake. I merely controlled him a while, no harm done. Strange you didn't pick something more deadly, Remus." the girl mused.
"Who the hell is Remus?!" Kanni yelled, getting horrible annoyed with this puzzle game Lori was playing taunting her with.
There was a small silence before Lori replied, "Of course you wouldn't know. I must speak with him now, if you don't mind." An excruciating pain abruptly gripped her mind, seeming to clench around her head and tighten. She crumbled to her knees, ramming her head forward into the ground, as if trying to knock the pain away. Her hands tore at her hair, her nails scraping her temples, frantically trying to remove the antagonizing pain within her.
Then black licked up the sides of her mind, beginning to blott out her own thoughts and feelings. She almost was unaware to the screams that tore through her throat. Then, in what seemed a second, everything swiftly became deathly silent. Kanni found herself in a room she had never seen before. All was hazy and dark, with a blue tint, as if she were looking through navy-blue sun-glasses. The floor was wooden, and very cold. The square room was small and had white windowless walls. No doors were there either, but then Kanni picked up whispering.
Then, in a flash, what seemed to be a couch formed just in front of her. A girl, Lori, materialized before the couch in which a thickly dark cloaked man sat. She couldn't see his face or any skin part of him, but she could tell he was angry...furious, and very sinister. They were talking...At first she couldn't understand their muffled whispers but then, closing her eyes and concentrating on their conversation, the words were suddenly clear.
"...have a way to get you out of this prison, Remus. Will you trust me enough to free you, my Lord?" Lori stopped quickly on one knee in a bow and stared at the cloaked figure in expectation. She seemed strained...tensed, with some fear. Did she even know Kanni was here? Listening to them?
"Why should I, you damned traitor! You deserve to die!" a man's voice roared and Lori cringed. Kanni noticed that she looked taller...older than the Lori she had seen enter the school.
"I know, my Dark Lord. You may kill me later, but now I must re-pay my vow and debt to you and free you. If you kill me now not only will I live in eternal debt but also you will never escape this horrid body they locked you in." Lori replied, sounding a bit quivery. Her hands twitched nervously as the cloaked man considered this a moment.
Finally he rasped, "Fine. I will allow you to redeem yourself...But this isn't the only chance for you, but for me as well. Don't mess up," he threatened. Lori hastily nodded. Then her eyes flickered towards Kanni and widened as she saw the girl's prescence was still there. She bolted forward with a hand glowing of dark red magic and swiped it across Kanni's forehead. Kanni screamed and fell back, seeming to fall into an endless pit before she completely lost herself in the depths of her mind.

Kanni

    (okies....nother postie!)

When Kanni woke up her head throbbed. She was lying on the floor of her room, the bandage still tightly wrapped around her blind eyes. Someone was patting her head and jolted when she moved. "Kanni?" Premidas's voice asked.
"Are you alright?" she asked him, pulling into an up-right position.
"That's what I was about to ask you. I'm alright. A few bruises and cuts, but I'm fine. You?"
"Good enough...where's Lori?" Kanni growled, remembering faintly of the intrusion. All was blurred....was that room with Lori and Remus a dream she had? Or real? She couldn't remember.
"Lori fled. A teacher was walking down the hall and she fled away. But she seemed done with what ever business she had within your head..."
   "And Rothen?"
Premidas was silent a moment. "Well, he's only ten feet long now," he forced a chuckle. But Kanni could tell his heart wasn't in the mood for laughing at all. "Well...he's out cold. He seems to be shrinking back to normal size though..."
"Okay...I think he had enough to eat for now though...Maybe you should pick him up a little later, when he is smaller..." Kanni swallowed, trying to wet her parched throat. She staggered to her knees and felt Prem get up along with her, grabbing her shoulders to help steady her. "Let's go see Alice." Kanni wanted to see the Verae again...she hadn't in a while and wondered what the little mischevious shape-shifter was.
"I'm so glad *Lori isn't in our house...Then again the Salarsh don't really fit to her either*...." Kanni mumbled, thinking of the disaster it would bring to have Lori so close to Kanni and Alice. (Lori Helken was sorted into the Salarsh house) Premidas shut the door behind him and led her back down through the hallway and back into the hospital. Madame Lunna was busy with a patient who had a hex on his tongue to become so big he couldn't swallow and began to choke. Kanni seated herself on her bed and scooted her legs under the warm but light  covers.
Her eyes throbbed and she wondered when she'd be able to see. Becoming curious she pulled the bandage up a bit and felt a light breeze on her brow. She frowned. Everything was as black s night, with some gray shades moving back and forth in omnious taunt. Premidas must have seen what she was doing and pulled the bandage back down over her eyes. "Kanni, you're blind for now. You can't see anything, no matter how much you want to, until the blindness wears off. So try not to hurt them anymore by trying, okay?"
"Fine," Kanni was still upset. She yawned and stretched, leaning back on her pillows. Her thoughts were swimming with flash-backs of what just happened. "We have to report Lori. What she did is forbidden!" Kanni hissed.
"No!" Premidas replied instantly. "If we report her she might speed up what ever she wants from you...We have to give her time so we can see her plan."
"Surely you don't beleive we can stop her alone!"
"No...but we have Alice and Kaleb too. I'm sure they'd help us; if they want to or not, I'm sure Lori might be cooking up something..." Premidas's voice trailed off thoughtfully.
Kanni didn't like this at all. The longer they waited, the longer Lori had to plot. But they might cause Lori to do something worse if they pulled authority into this...put the school in bigger danger just for her safety. Kanni groaned. Was it really meant for her to be here? Maybe all these things happening because of her and Alice were signs that the two of them weren't to be here at the same time...Kanni was still fifteen while the others were all already sixteen...she could wait a year and then try coming again...
"Don't even think about it Kanni. You know perfetly well this is the place for you," Premidas growled sternly. She jolted. How did he know what she was thinking? "I can see it on your face," Premidas laughed. "Your expression and frown give it all away." She could almost see him grin. Was she really that obvious? Maybe... She heard him laugh again. "Stop frowning! Smile, little Kan, and enjoy yourself a bit. Just forget what happened for two seconds." he seemed a little worried.
"How can I? After what I just witnessed...or what I thought I did..." once again she frowned. This was really confusing. All her memories were all blurry and broken up like a strange puzzle scattered through her mind.
"I know, I know, but all this stress and worrying isn't healthy. Just enjoy yourself for a while...We'll have enough time to worry when we finally catch Alice and Kaleb and discuss this...and then there is still the problem about Brige...You know, I haven't seen him lately...maybe Themrus and Ulthra have already socked him...or maybe he's hiding-"
   "Now look who's worrying."
"Ah! There it is. That smile again." Premidas praised and patted her cheek. "See? Isn't it nice to smile again?"
    "I guess."
"Okay then. You rest here a bit. I don't think Lori will go after you here, where Madame Lunna will be around and other sick students. I'll go see if I can spot Alice or Kaleb, okay? I'll see you again soon." Premidas got up from the foot of her bed. He didn't need the cane anymore, but she could still hear a hesitant limp in his stride when he began to stalk away.
"Okay. Hurry though! I'm sure Alice will be happy to see she has bestowed her sneaking out lusts on me," Kanni waved to whom she hoped was the animagus and then fingered her temples again. She tied her lilac locks into a ponytail and groped for the TV remote, switching it on even though she knew she wouldn't be able to see the visions flashing across the screen.

Alice

"Fight! Fight! Fight!" Several kids were now circling two boys in the food court. This had all started only when one poured soda on the other as a prank. Now any student could be facing detention seeing how the staff was watching carefully and scribbing something on the palm of their hands. And of course one of them had to be Brad, the one who meant the soda pouring as a prank to one of his pales who had been fumed about a girl who declined him. The shape shifter, Alice, had been leaning over her seat to watch, hearing Kaleb's hissings of how stupid this would be. She didn't pay much attention to that, just to the chanting and the punches the two threw at each other. "Do you honestly think that this is going to end good?" Another student was now trying to get between them, only to be shoved away by Brad. This was getting stupid seeing how all the girls had moved to the front only to make the other boy more angry.
Then something was thrown over at Alice and Kaleb. A table and it had nearly slammed into their heads. The legs were swinging loosely and hanging off of the side of the booth. No one had seemed to notice the table flying at them and just continued with chanting the fight on which soon begun in a brutal beating. Kaleb had tried several times to distract Alice from watching with flying salt shakers or dancing napkins, yet her attention wasn't on the two students fighting. It was Lori, just standing there and watching Alice too with a smirk on her pale lips. There was a connection in the girl's eyes, drawing Alice deeper into what seemed to be darkness. An endless pit that only gave away to Kaleb's voice yelling, "Alice! Get down!"
Too late. Something hard had hit Alice in the head as Kaleb tried to dive for it, catching the small salt shaker that Brad had thrown at his opponet. Her head was now throbbing painfully, making her stomach boil with rage at the two students, hoping to get close enough to tear their eyes out. Yet Kaleb was now pinching her hand under the table with glares and whispered, "Don't dare think of getting involved with this one. You know what Brige is looking for in you."
"A way for trouble. I know, I know already. But you'd at least think I'd get warning from them. And besides, why isn't Brad visiting Kanni?" said the shape shifter, rubbing her head.
"Don't know. Maybe he's too fumed to think about that right now seeing how Alice's habits have bestowed on Kanni." The voice was Premidas who leaned onto the side of the booth, sitting next to Kaleb and already examining the fight. "How long?"
"Few minutes only. Not much to be awed about," answered Alice.
"It's been mostly boring," said Kaleb through a series of yawns. "How's Kanni?"
"Something else happen, maybe we should talk about it with Kanni," whispered Premidas, taking account of a few students staring at them.
"..." Alice was mainly paying attention to the fight still, finding that Lori had moved somewhere else in the crowd where she might now be seen right now. Still, Alice felt watched. Not by other students, but by something hungry for energy and pain. The conversation between the two boys wasn't her interest anymore, neither the way that Kaleb continued to rub her knuckles to get her attention softly. He was perhaps afraid of her going missing one more time. It was a habbit, yet one that sometimes lead her to important information.
"Alice, let's go visit Kanni." All three stood up, avoiding the fight and chanting auidence, leaving the food court unharmed. Students were more talkative these days about anything, even of how Alice or Kanni kept ending up in the Hospital Wing. Brige was now found walking through the corridors more with Merlin with him. Snoop was either found chewing on desks or plants that hung around the school, no harm done there. The shape shifter didn't feel ready to leave the corridor closet to the food court, as if she had forgotten something there. Yet the feeling meant nothing at all to her.
Gabriel was now even found between hours called up to Clarissa's office along with Mrs. Taint or Themrus, whoever was there. Yet Kaleb locked her arm with his and walked her down with Premidas, preparing to explain to Kanni about what had happened and to hear the other story of what had been happening.
[Sorry it's short. Gotta go to doctor's tomorrow so gotta go to bed early.]

Kanni

      (okies. can write now)

"Kan? You awake?" Prem's voice asked as a hand patted her shoulder. "I've actually caught Alice and Kaleb."
"Hm?" Kanni yawned and stretched, pulling from her pillows. Her hands stretched out and whom she thought was Alice chuckled, "It's okay Kanni. We're right here." She could almost see Alice frown. "What happened? Did you poke an eye or something." Kanni bristled. She would have to explain what happened, wouldn't she? But she didn't want to. Not yet, anyways.
"That's okay. I'll tell her my veiw, okay?" Premidas hastily offered, sensing the sudden tesion. Suddenly a light bulb in the hallway blew up and popped in a shower of sparks. Kanni groaned. "That's been going on for the past hour...stupid powers. I need to train with Mrs. Taint again..." she mumbled. "Okay then," she gestured to where she thought Prem was. "You can tell what you know, which is probably more than I can recall right now...and then, Alice, I want to know why you haven't visted me earlier!" she cracked a small but forced grin.
"Okay..." Premidas began by clearing his throat. His story was about as much as Kanni could confirm and remember...all except, that is, the part where she was within that room in her mind eaves dropping on Lori and Remus. Alice and Kaleb made the bed slightly bent inward as they took a seat at the foot of her bed and listened. Kanni ripped through her memory...this was all so blurry...she could remember parts and bits, like photo shots, but nothing more...But for now she'd have to beleive Prem's observation to be accurate until she could calm down and pull herself back together. "...and then she just fell as Lori jolted. Lori saw and heard the teacher and bolted the other way. I didn't want any trouble so I quickly dragged myself to the door and slammed it shut. I sat with her the rest of the time. It took her near and hour and a half to wake again...but she seemed well enough after her rest. I'm no mind expert, but I could've sworn something was going on in her mind. Cause both of them got that glassy-eyed look and were completely still and silent. Then Kanni screamed like an animal and fell over. But she doesn't seem to remember anything and I don't think we should try and force her to just yet..." his voice lowered, his words directed at Alice and Kaleb most likely.
Kanni's brow knitted together in confusion. The room in her mind...was that what Prem meant? Could he sense it? Maybe...Her memory was getting foggier and foggier. The longer she waited the less she remembered. No. She had to tell them now. Now before she lost all memory of it. And she'd have to write it down. "Prem, get a piece of paper and pen. Write down exactly what I say..."

"Alright. Got it." Premidas huffed, rubbing his fingers from the scribbled and fast writing. Was this what really happened? How could he have missed so much? Well, it was all in her head. Can't really follow her there, now can you? he growled to himself. He looked up to see Alice's face twisted in deep thought, her hands wringing and balling into fists. Kaleb met Prem's gaze and then lowered his eyes. Premidas sighed. So thats what he missed...a lot...How could he help her if she went somewhere where he couldn't follow? He closed his eyes a second and then blinked them open, finding Alice staring at him expectantly.
"Well? What are you waiting for? An invitation?" Prem growled before he could catch himself. Damn...all this is putting me in a hell of a mood...he closed his eyes again, trying to make himself focuse as Alice began in a soft tone.
