Alice

   It had been hard for Alice to tear through the details of meeting Abigalle, the basin, and of her transformation. They all had seemed to be paying attention to her purple eye after telling them of the first shifting that hadn't been decided by her at all. She filled them in of the strange girl trying to break into her mind, strange things happening in her room, and that Gabriel was a Verae himself, only wanting the best teacher for his godchild to learn how to block these possessings. Kaleb had shifted in his seat with his gaze falling to the floor, slightly shocked at what he heard. They were dealing something that didn't fight with sticks or throw things but something that had a greater power than them all. It wanted some memory to feed off of. An painfull one. Yet it had all be theories to deal with this for Gabriel had began to come up with his own. "...and then he left with Mrs. Taint without saying a word about it all. Just like that," ended Alice, taking her seat on the foot of Kanni's bed. "Whatever this thing, perhaps Lori, wants it isn't anything like an artifact but a memory."
   "We have many so which one does she want?" Premidas had been in a rather touchy mood, growling comments during the lecture. He wanted to know more, but the shape shifter felt sympothy knowing that Premidas wouldn't be able to follow Kanni and her every where. There was a moment of silence, hearing Kaleb scribble it all down. Alice had directed them so incase whatever it was had completely flushed their minds, that way they had something to trigger these memories to come back to them. She had only read this in books and deeply hoped that these sheet of papers would as a powerfull thing to trigger memories. Kanni was next to speak, "So you kept on switching powers? Just grabbing them and using them until another one took over?"
   "Except I couldn't control which ones I wanted or what to do with them. It was something involuntary that I couldn't decide. I shifted into something that doesn't even exist," answered Alice, getting up and walking in paces. She couldn't sit still, not with so many feelings in her gut.
   "It sounds like dark magic. But to grab powers without choices is something like an adept," whispered Kaleb, his eyes locked on the pencil in his hands. "Adepts are people like us, except the nature scenes around support their magic. Such as if an adept was located near an ocean he or she would be able to shift into a sea creature of make it rain. But if the adept was near a volcano they'd have the elemental power of flame. Except Alice fed off other people's powers..."
   "...which brings up nowhere at all. If I don't find out what I was feeding off exactly and can't control who knows what kind of power I might pick up. What makes me wonder if any students noticed that their powers were gone for that split minute," said Alice.
   "There's a chance Madam Lunna or Themrus know that. Or maybe there are some lsit of complaints about that," said Kanni, sitting up and facing Alice. "Maybe Clarissa knows something of students' powers gone missing."
   "We don't need to ask anyone. There is a room where it always records what goes on with students' powers for security reasons. Not many know of it so it'll be a sinch to get through the guards and into it," said Premidas, looking over to Kaleb. "Kaleb and I have even run into it a few times when we were bored."
   "Perfect, we'll go there and see which students lost their powers." Finally. A plan to start looking for answers. Even though it might have some flaws it was the only thing that they might think of before it was too late. "What about Kanni?"
   "I'll stay here and see if any students come in complaining of something wierd. Besides, if Madam Lunna catches me away I'll be in trouble," answered Kanni, waving them away. "Go now before Lori catches on to us."
   "Come on Prem, you know where the room is better than I do." The three had left Kanni, waving their good-byes and walking into the corridors. They had seen Themrus walking with Ulthar with parchments under his arms. This room that the two boys had been talking about hadn't been very far away from the hospital wing, just a few minutes of walking away. What the two boys had found strange that there were no guards located near the room. Inside was something that Alice would have never forgotten so easily as Kaleb whispered, "Say hi to Quincy."
   There was a man, almost spider like, seated in a seat in the middle of room that seemed to bow down to the tall shelves covered in parchement. The man had four arms, two writing quickly on two parchements while the other two sorted the parchments around him onto the shelves. Shelves had been dated under the parchements since 1989 to the current date. Alice had walked closer to Quincy, examining what the man was writing while whispering it out loud, "Maiya complains about stomach and goes to hospital wing. Brad uses his power to disarm another student. Kyle puts his lunch on fire-"
   "CONSTANCE SILENCE!!" The small man roared the two words like a lion while Alice behind him stumbled to the ground, feeling one of his arms pull her up and brush her off. Kaleb had walked out from an aile, whispering to Alice, "He doesn't like talking so keep quiet."
   "Of course." This was mad. To look through a few parchments was okay, but to have to look through the pile of parchments Premidas had found was outragous. The shape shifter had felt her hopes slightly drop, imagining what she would have to do now. They might be here forever, which didn't matter to Alice as long as they found out how to stop this.

Kanni

  Kindda like my powers....aren't they? Kanni thought to herself as she recalled how Alice described the power exchange. "Dark". That's how Prem and Kaleb had referred to the powers. Were hers also then labeled "dark" powers? Did they look upon her abilitied with disdain as well? Why shouldn't they? You do. Kanni bit her lip. "Hey Kanni." Kanni's gaze snapped up as she recognized the voice.
   "Brad?" she asked, surprised.
   "Yup." he grumbled.
    "What brings you here?"
    "Got into a fight with Marcos. I got a bloody nose and split lip, but he has some nice burns to remember me of all his life!" the boy gloated triumphantly. Yes...that was right. He had laser eye-shot. "Can you control them? Your powers, I mean." she inquired, now curious.
   "Of course!" he answered with an offended tone. "Can't everyone?" Kanni bristled.
   "No," she hissed lowly. He was silent a moment.
   "Oh...sorry. I forgot..."
   "Forgot what?" she snapped.
   "That you're a milthacti."
    "Where'd you hear that?"
   "C'mon Kanni! Everyone knows! It's all around school and has been for almost a month now."
    Kanni was about to shot a sharp come-back but then felt her stomach turn. If everyone knew, then surely Lori would as well...wouldn't she? "Oh God...she knows!" Kanni breathed, wringing her fists into her blanket.
    "Huh?" Brad grunted.
   "Nothing. Nothing at all. Well, I hope you soon feel better, okay?" she hastily muttered, her thoughts still on all the problems and questions swimming in within her again. So much for relaxing a bit... "Hey, your crazy friend, Prem, isn't around, right?" Brad cautioned. Kanni's lips thinned in a frown.
    "He might be. I don't know. I can't see." her voice lowered in suspicion.
   "Okay...cause if he caught me here with you he'd bite my head off." Her bed dented inward as Brad took a seat at its end. "You two are only friends...right?"
    "Yes." Kanni didn't even hesitate even though she knew the strange feelings began to surface every now and then.
    "And you're not with Kaleb either...right?"
    "Of course not!" Kanni didn't even try to hide the incredulousness in her voice. "He's fully Alice's," she chuckled.
    "Ah. Thought so. You know, those two would make a nice pair," Brad muffled a cough. "And you know we would too." Kanni froze. Her blood turned ice cold and her heart thudded. She couldn't see...was this some sick joke? Was he trying to pull something? Suddenly she wished her over-protective friend was here. (Premidas. ^^;) Then something brushed her lips. Instantly she yanked back and scrambled to the edge of her bed, steadying her feet on the floor, wiping her lips with the back of her hand.
   "Kanni?" Brad's voice was guarded, not allowing her to portray whether he was hurt or smug. "What's wrong?"
   "You!" she accused. "What did you just do?!"
   "Oh. I did this," his lips brushed hers again. She wrenched from his hands and tumbled to the floor, ripping down some contents on her night desk as she tried to catch herself. This was sick! She was blind and couldn't even see him! Twon hands clamped on her arms and started to raise her up. "Brad! Stop!" she ordered, trying to keep her voice firm and calm.
   "I'm only helping you up," the boy gruffly replied, sounding annoyed.
   "I don't want your help! Don't you ever do that again, especially when I can't even see you!" she nearly bellowed, pulling away from him as soon as she was steady again.
    "Well, sorry," he grumbled. "I'll be going then."
   Great...now look what you have done! He confesses his fondness for you and you make it seem as if it were the most horrible thing ever! she scolded herself. No! He kissed me! And I never knew what was coming...
    So?
    So?! What if Prem saw me...or found out?
   So what if he did? It's not like you care for him either.  The voices argued back and forth through her head, the second voice suddenly sounding much like Lori's heartless cackle. Lori! "Brad, wait," the words forced from her mouth. What?! She had never said them.
--Well, not willingly anyways, Lori's voice chuckled within her head.
   Lori! She's here! In my mind! Kanni began to get frantic as her arm reached out and grabbed Brad's sweater clad arm. No! Stop! Give me back control! she screamed at the intruder. "Brad, I'm sorry...I didn't mean it. I was...shocked." the words were maliciously honeyed and Kanni could feel her lips form into a grin without her will. Stop! Lori was controlling her...what would she make her do? Her thoughts were frantic as she felt her hand touch Brad's cheek.
   Then she leaned forward. NO! she screamed with all her might, her head whirling with rebellion but her body continuing and staying firm in Lori's hold. Their lips pressed together. No, no, no, no, no! she cried over and over again, wrenching herself away but her body would not follow. Brad's arms wrapped around her back. No! Get off me! Prem, where are you?! Kanni felt herself go crazy.
--Lori, get your damn self outta me! she shrieked into the darkness of her mind where she helplessly stood.
--Oh, I will...as soon as the deed is done.
--Deed? What deed?! Kanni's eyes widened with horror as she felt a familiar sensation begin to coil through her veins and a horrible pain reached her head. NO! Finally her body wrenched from Brad's grasp but it was too late. A red flash encased her and sank into her flesh, making her blood churn and seem to boil with heat and unfamiliar energy. "No..." she whimpered as she cringed to the floor and awaited the ordeal to end. God...I'm so sorry Prem...
        (*she just stole his power, in case u didn't understand. ^^;)

Alice

   [Welcome!]
   We are going to be here all night...The three students were still in the same room as Quincy who continued to write in a new furious speed, mumbling to himself. Parchments and books were laid across their laps, trying to decide of which one to read next to add to the count Premidas had began. There were over twenty students who felt their power vanish and return in the next minute. Worse thing was that it was all random, there was no pattern in the powers taken. Even the locations were random. First the Hospital Wing, then the Library, a class room, and then scattering to several other parts of the school within seconds. Premidas had seemed a bit twitchy whenever Alice had brought something up about Kanni, yet the shape shifter didn't feel offended. It was amusing to her of how Premidas wanted to help Kanni and how he growled when they mentioned Brad.
   Guincy had even thrown the new parchments to them after writing near three feet on them, even as he drank from his Coke can and continued to write. It was a grand wonder that Premidas and Kaleb had ran into this place or they would've all been clueless of where to look for this information. After looking through several more parchments that Kaleb had brought to them, Alice leaned against his shoulder feeling slightly exhausted. The parchments never ended and none said anything about Lori. Theories had just been made by Alice who began to think what if Lori wasn't this attacker, what if she was just a decoy of some sort. No. There were no parchments that assured that. And then Kaleb threw away another parchment, saying through a series of yawns, "The count is now fifty-four students who claimed to have felt their powers vanish and come back. All are random and even the locations so right now we only have numbers."
   "You think we should've left Kanni alone?" Premidas had entered the conversation after his own silence, leaning over parchments and rubbing his eyes. He was concerned about Kanni. Who wouldn't when she was blind currently and Lori had full acess to the Hospital Wing.
   "Kanni? Kanni Merrane...ah, yes..." Quincy had spoken for the first time, cracking his two sets of knuckles while the quil floated back into the ink bottle. The man had just thrown a parchment to Premidas, closing his left eye to what may have been winking and turning back to the parchment and quill on the desk. "She's in kahoots with that boy...Ah yes, Brad I think it was who was just sent to the Hospital Wing."
   The animagus's face constricted with rage, standing up abrutly and walked over the parchments while Kaleb yelled after him, "We're coming with Prem or else you might kill Brad!"
   "There better had be a explanation." The shape shifter followed the two boys who continued to yell at each other in the corridors. Her attention was attracted to two blue eyes that stared back out from a door that stood ajar, watching her with interest. Alice had felt slightly uncomfortable, yet continued to walk to the door almost placing her hand on the door knob until a voice broke the tension yelling, "Alice! What are you doing?"
   Gabriel. Thank god it was only Gabriel and not Brige. The godfather stood infront of her with a worried gleam in his eyes which soon turned into a steely gaze at the door. He moved forward to shut it furthor and looked down at Alice, "What did you think you were doing?"
   "Just interested," she said, trying to force a smile to Gabriel when she continued to watch the door knob that tried to twist under Gabriel's hand.
   "Quincy just told me you were with him in his office and I will not allow you to go around and looking for more trouble! Clarissa found something though that was interesting about our little meeting with Abigalle," said Gabriel, bringing Alice away from the door.
   "Why wouldn't she-?" The door had just blown off from it's hinges and propelled forward into the back of Gabriel who held Alice with him. The force had brought the two against a wall hard without warning. Darkness had just then filled the mind of Alice who found herself staring at the wall that protected her mind.
   --What the hell? There was someone moving to the wall. Get away from there!
   --Foolishness, pure foolishness that is always expected from you.
   --Who the hell are you already before I kill myself!
   --What good is that going to do you?
   --It'll kill the memory or whatever you want!
   There was a long silence, and then the blue eyes of Lori.
   --Remus will be very displeased then. Yes, very much he will.
   --Get out now! And who the hell is Remus now?
   --Only the greatest wizard of all ages and your little friend has him and I want him. I must bring Remus back, I must. Yet your friend is finding herself in trouble herself.
   --What did you do to her?
   --Only controlled her yet she doesn't seek what I want. I seek a memory of you Verae, a memory that shows perhaps the greatest happiness and a great tragedy at once. It'll be your weakest point Verae for Remus needs a body of a Verae to complete the deed. It will happen Verae and you won't be seeing your friends anymore.
   --Out of my head now!! It's mine, do you hear? Mine! All mine!!
   --Childish. You think a tanturm will help you?
   --This will help me for sure. The shape shifter had just slammed herself into what felt like a wall and then felt shards of glass bite at her skin. She had just then felt to have hit something hard, like pavement. Lori's eyes had shrank back in pain with a loud screech followed by a hollow laughter that rang through Alice's head.
   --So that was the great plan of Alice Black? Falling out of a window and nearly bleeding to death? How childish, really.
   --I will kill myself and then so much for your memory search.
   --So? I'll just continue on with Kaleb or Premidas.
   --But your Remus needs the body of a Verae right? How many of those are you going to find normally?
   Silence. There was the same cold silence that kept Alice scared and frightened. Had she fallen out of a window? It felt like it but did it hurt Lori as well or just in the mind? The blue eyes closed and opened thoughtfully and then darted for the wall that protected Alice.
   --Oh no you don't!
   Her lungs constricted in more pain, sending Alice back while the eyes of Lori vanished. She could feel Lori clawing inside her head, looking for something. If this was what death felt like Alice would've rather never had been born.
   "Alice! Oh dear god! Get someone quick!"

Kanni

   "Kan? Kanni?" Brad's voice asked from above, over and over again, like a broken record. This wasn't happening...no, it was all a dream....all a dream. She blinked open an eye and felt her stomach turn. No...this was real. She groaned as she raised herself onto two propped elbows. "Kanni...you alright there?"
   She gave the brown-haired boy a glare. She remembered what she had just done, and wouldn't forget so easily...Lori would pay. Would pay! No one can take my body and do that! she growled to herself, cursing Lori quite colorfully under her breath as she allowed Brad to pull her into standing. Her eyes throbbed. Shit. She was still blind too. When would the damn stuff wear off? And it almost made her knees buckle at the thought of having to go through the extraction process again.
   She shoved away Brad's arms and he seemed quite taken aback. "Every thing alright?"
  "No, it's not." she snapped. Oh, how was she going to explain this? "Look, what just happened-"
   "Kanni?"
    Kanni nearly toppled back. It was Prem's voice. Oh God...not now! Then anger took her once more as Premidas snarled, "What is he doing here? What did he do?"
   "Nothing! I think I'm old enough to take care of myself, Mr. Anthen. Now back off, I need a word with him." Kanni's voice was stricken and harrassed sounding. This was all getting out of hand, and she was damn sick of always playing the damsel in distress while Prem tried to be the prince to rescue her. It was time she rescued herself and took things into her own hands--where they belonged.
   "But-" the albino animagus protested with some surprise but Kanni put up a hand.
   "Get lost!" A shuffle of feet signaled Premidas turning on his heel and stomping away. She could almost see Brad's appraising look.
   "So, you're finally breaking free from his hold over you. Good, good." he praised.
   "Listen to me, you damned fool! I belong to no one, and am under no one's hold! And what we just did--never speak of it again or ever do it again!" she turned on him, fury written clearly across her face even when her eyes weren't visible.
   "But you were the one who kissed me!" Brad accused.
   "Okay, look, I'm sorry! I wasn't myself..." Kanni sighed and rubbed her temples. "Brad, I have your powers now."
   "What?"
    "Try them, you'll see. When we kissed I'm afraid I stole them. I'm sorry..." There was a momentary silence.
   "Y-you're right..." Brad sounded bewildered. "But it's okay...I understand. You can't control it."
   Kanni felt a pang of releif. "Thanks...you seem to be the only one." she mumbled and groped for her bed, sliding back into it when she felt her sheets. "Look, if you don't mind I'd like some time to rest."
    "Oh! Of course. I'll stop by again later, okay? And...um...sorry about before. I should have asked first. Bye!" she heard his feet dart off and she allowed herself to fall against her pillows. "You alright, Miss Merrane?" It was Ulthra's voice.
   "Yes. I am now. I stole another power."
   "I know."
    "You do?"
    "I saw it. It was quite a painful looking sight, I must say." the ghost's deep voice rumbled.
   "Wish you didn't," Kanni hissed. So she saw her kiss Brad...would he tell Prem and the others? No. He wasn't the type to butt into her business. "So, how is Brige?"
   "He's knows we're onto him. He's been avoiding us. But beleive me, we'll have him soon..." the ghost. "Ah, hello Mr. Anthen." Kanni flinched. She knew she'd have to face him now.
   "Hello. May I have a private word with Kanni, please?" Premidas sounded stern and angered, but Kanni felt just as tempered as he. It would be a miracle if this ended without one of them bleeding from a blow.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  The ghost nodded and trailed away, sinking into the floor below. Prem eyes the spot suspiciously and then regarded Kanni, the white cloth still wrapped around her eyes. He felt his heart twist painfully as he took a seat. What was he thinking? What would he in the hell say? "What were you and Brad up to?" he finally managed. Bad move. Too bad he realized it far too late.
  "What the hell is the matter with you?! You just can't stand that I have my own life, can you?!" she roared, her fists clenched.
   "That's not it at all!" he retorted. He really didn't want to fight with her...or make her upset. He was worried. Was that such a crime?
   "Well, what is it then?!" she demanded, crossing both arms, her brows knitting together and he could almost invision the anger in her blind eyes. He swallowed the lump forming in his throat and wrung both hands. Great. Now she has you, you bastard. Now what will you say? Now what lie will you spin, dumb ass?!
Alice
   --Ha, so much for falling out of a window. Pain constricted Alice in nearly every muscle of her body while glass bit at on her skin. The cold pavement was still under her, something that she was proud to feel after the fall from several stories. It had been a miracle to survive and now that Lori didn't even have enough time to look for whatever she wanted. Blood trickled from her cut lip while her tongue probbed against the inside of her swollen and bruised cheek. Alice's hands seemed to find enough strength to lift herself up, bragging to herself of how she got rid of Lori in her mind, even though it had been a painfull choice. Back in the hospital wing, that was probaly what whoever found her would say directly after getting an answer from her. Blood was still seeping out from the cuts on her hands slowly along with small shards of glass. "Alice, don't move one bit until I have you up and ready to go straight to Madam Lunna! True, I enjoy a bit of excitement but what were you thinking?"
   "Themrus?" The face next to hers smiled gently and then shook at the number of scratches Alice had earned herself. His hands brushed through her hair to get rid of any more glass and then offered her a bar of chocolate which she numbly accepted, still feeling a bit painfull. Alice's muscles were screaming for the same healing light Madam Lunna had used so many times on other students, which was now something Alice had been craving for herself. Themrus seemed to be on the restless side with his hair messy and some darkened bags under his eyes, perhaps watching Brige was taking a toll on him after all. The man coughed, "What were you thinking? First I leave you with Gabriel in perfect condition and then you decide that leaping through a window is a perfectly normal idea! Honestly..."
   "It's not like that!" The thoughts in her head froze, suddenly thinking of Kanni and what Quincy had told her along with the other two. Gabriel was still upstairs, unaware of what had happened to Alice while Kaleb and Premidas didn't know either. The shape shifter got up with haste, feeling pain pinch her sides while she grunted, "I need to get to Kanni and quick..Quincy said so!"
   "Quincy? Ah..." His eyes locked into a thoughtfull gaze on Alice's open palm which he held and then closed. "This is getting out of hand Alice if you've met Quincy. I suggest you don't go looking around anymore."
   --Watch me. Anyone would've perfectly known better than to give Alice instructions for she wouldn't live up to them, such as sneaking out when she wasn't supposed to. The shape shifter gave Themrus one more thoughtfull look and then her own scratches alinged on her arm, then to the broken window high above. She needed to reach Kanni, finding Premidas and Kaleb before Lori got to them. And then the blurs of white and red swirls engulfed Alice quickly. A raven had just then emerged from the cloud away from Themrus and through the window to only emerge from another cloud as the large black dog who galloped through the corridors.
   --I couldn't serve up to it Remus...please...don't punish me, I shall do better next time. I promise Remus, I promise.
   The voice had slithered through the walls and to Alice's ears who slowed her pace, curious of this voice speaking to her. A gut instinct told her it belonged to Lori just the same as the pair of blue eyes that peered out from the shadows. Her paws carried her away and her pace returned to the same gallop trying to ignore the voices.
   --Remus, the Verae is powerful, I can assure you that but I can defeat her.
   Students began to stop to watch the black dog race through them to the other end of the corridor while some laughed, asking of who the dog belonged to. Alice had simply ignored them along with the voices, allowing her feet to carry her to the hospital wing.
   --You can't send me back, please...I will do better Remus. I shall.
   The picture of someone laying on the ground flashed in her mind, causing her to swing her head while raming into the wall near the hospital wing. It haunted her while she whined hoping for attention.
   --Purple, green, black. Are these the elements you fear?
   --NO!
   The canine's eyes had flickered open to take in the light of of a candle where her nose was perched near. She was now on a hospital bed, or at least the foot of it while Gabriel laid in it asleep. The shape shifter had been bandagded even as a dog and one of her ears had become lazy, leaning forward gently. The two were in the private dorm where Gabriel was once healed, something that Alice always had wanted to forget. Had so much time passed since she was battling with herself in the corridors? Madam Lunna had entered the room, whispering, "Ah, I see you are awake Miss Black. I'll go tell your friends that you've arrived then."
Kanni
  ( i won't lie...this is a short one!! sry!!! XD)
   "Well?" Kanni demanded, crossing both arms tightly over her chest. Premidas was getting on her last nerve, and if he wasn't careful he would cause her powers to activate and destroy something, which she was kind of hoping for at this moment. She couldn't see, she just was invaded by that bitch Lori, had unwillingly kissed another boy whom she didn't like that way, and now was being carefully monitored by this animagus as if she was some fellon. And guess what? She wasn't liking it one bit!
Alice
   "You're sure you'll be alright? Falling out of a window isn't just something..." Alice was seated in the office that belonged to Madam Lunna to be talked to personally. It was never an everday thing to just fall out of a window. And Alice wasn't alone with the empty office, Kaleb was there with her trying to force a smile to her yet it only resulted in a faint crease. The nurse only fetched him saying that Premidas and Kanni were busy. Cuts and bruises were still visible on Alice's skin, something that would take days to heal seeing on how there were so many of them. Her hair was limp and fell among her shoulders without proud. Kaleb was sitting on the arm of the chair the shape shifter was seated in with her hand in his, examining the cuts made by the glass. She had a battle with Lori, something that would need alot of courage to prove to Clarissa. Themrus and Gabriel would surely believe her, maybe even Ulthar. Alice then looked up at Kaleb, nodding while she said, "I'm not sure. It's been to hectic to be sure about anything else anymore. Lori is dividing us, controllig us to do things we don't want to do. How can I be alright with all of it?"
   "It'll be alright." His eyes seemed to want to apologize for something, drifting to her bruised cheek and then back to her hand. They all needed to bring this to attention of someone with more power than them, with more authority into this all. Alice was mainly worried that this was what Lori wanted, for them to all split. If one was caught alone it meant bad news. Her thoughts wandered on watching Lori herself, but what if it only made her more easier to possess? A knot in her stomach tightened as Kaleb embraced her with one arm, the other reaching to put an end to the moving quil on the desk. Brige would love to know what was going on with Gabriel and herself.
   "No it won't be," retroted Alice, raising her chin and turning away. "Gabriel is already hurt once more and what if I take another shifting that I don't want? Then what! Lori wants this and I know it! She wants something from me and I can't give it to her or the pain will only get worse. Kanni already has stollen three powers and everyone is talking about it. By now Lori knows where we mostly are and what we've done!"
   "We can take care of this. It will end but we need to relax right now," his voice was more stern, nearly demanding. "Themrus and Ulthar should already know about this and are probaly taking care of it right now. You are in no condition to even fight with Lori, seeing how you've fallen from several floors to the earth."
   "I don't want them to fight my battle! I'm not some weakling who hides behind people! I've been there too long and that's why Gabriel was hurt before. That's why people are experiencing a failure of their powers, Kaleb! Because of me!" she was now yelling, her throat feeling hoarse already as Kaleb looked taken back.
   "Did Gabriel ever tell you that he's got a job here to watch you and your powers. We cannot all simply ignore the fact that you two, you and Kanni, are wanted by Lori. Your powers are always evolving, that's why you came to this school, Alice. To learn how to develope them under either a good influence, or one that wants to cause pain to the innocence," whispered Kaleb. "Gabriel is now a teacher for after the vacation my mother is setting so we can all regroup after all of this and to add several more students into the school."
   "B-but I brought him in danger that one night. He had no clue what was coming to him when I...when I shifted into something that I could never place a name on," her voice cracked in several places when she talked. "Lori told me that she needs a body for the wizard and I was the easiest one to possess. She's helping him, his name was something like Remus..."
   Kaleb had spoke seeing the glare Alice was giving to the desk infront of her. Even though she would never admit it, she wanted this power that Lori wanted too. Alice wanted to be able to control that shifting and to finally end this all. But her thoughts were interrupted when Kaleb's hand brushed the hair out of her face, brushing it away to examine her purple eye with green specks.
   "...Do you even know who Remus is?"
   "I never thought it was important I guess."
   "If anything it is." Kaleb withdrew himself from Alice to find Abigalle standing in the doorway, her eyes staring at Alice with a piercing expression. The woman waved her hand in a circular motion as the door closed behind. "Good to see you again Miss Black."
   "...without wings this time," hissed Alice. "What did you mean by that?"
   Abigalle let out a large and sorrow sigh, "I'm guessing Kaleb or Premidas never told you about the great dark wizard Remus. Only a few dare to speak of him and to imagine that Miss Merrane carries the soul of this wizard will be the unthinkable. The story of him is long, but I'll take the chance of letting you in on it all..."
   And so it began. To hear the horrible story of Remus and his legacy only gave Alice the urge to throw herself out of another window. Finally, they'd all be able to end this if they heard everything, but why was Abigalle the one to tell them, why not Gabriel or Clarissa?
Kanni
   PANG!! Another light bulb broke, popping the glass and sending hot crackling sparks showering down. Premidas ducked and ripped the curtain suspended around the bed shut. "Will you stop trying to kill me?" he muttered but Kanni only crossed her arms. An angry and irritated glare was set upon her lips which seemed to be directed straight at him. As if she could see him. But that was stupid. She was blind and even had a bandage wrapped around her eyes. Premidas gulped and then took a deep breath.
   "Well, you see, you're powers and getting more and more out of hand...feeding off your every emotion-" he began.
    "I already know that. And besides, it's totally irrevelant to what I asked you." the milthacti snapped impatiently.
    Prem scowled at her. She wasn't going to make this easy for him, was she? "I'm just worried, okay?! I'm worried you'll-"
   "-hurt your precious school, or one of your precious girlfriends, right?" she finished for him. "Well you don't have to worry about that. Maybe I'll run away like Miss Black, but never come back. Then you'll never have to worry your little head about me, will you? Would you like that? Oh, I'm sure you would." She was seething now. He didn't intend for that. But her anger was also raising his.
   "Look, Kanni, that's not at all what I mean! And if you just let me fricken' talk maybe I can finally get it out!" he yelled. Kanni's lips thinned into a tight line, her brows furrowing so low they were almost hidden behind the bandages.
   "Well? I'm waiting." she snarled and leaned back on her pillows, her face held right towards his, and Prem could clearly envision her expectant but steely eyes. He shook the thought from his head. That would just be too creepy.
   "Well...um...I'm actually worried about you and Alice-" he began again.
   "Oh, yes, Miss Black. You really like her, don't you? Good for you. I'm sure she would actually care what you have to say right now if she were me." Kanni hissed and tossed her head to one side in ignorance and impatience. Premidas's fists coiled but he didn't dare move them. She was having a rough time...and he also admitted he, himself, was anything but helping right now, even if he did care what the hell she was doing with Brad.
    "Kanni, I'm worried about your safety, that's all." he finally got out what he was trying to say for the past few days. She was quiet a minute but still appeared angered.
   "Well don't be," she finally muttered. "I don't need you to act like my parent, Prem. I need you to stop damn supervising me like some secret service!"
   "I'm not trying to!" he yelled back at her. "I'm just trying to help!"
   "Well don't! Do you really think you're helping right now? At this moment?!"
   "..."
    "No! You're not! You're making it fricken' harder for me! So just get lost, will ya?" her voice lowered and trailed off at the last words as if she was surprised at herself for letting them escape her lips. But when she didn't say anything else Premidas knew she meant it. He wasn't helping, was he? He was only making things worse...He lowered his head and stared at his black K.Swiss shoes as if waiting--wishing--she would say something else. But she didn't. Her scowl was now a frown that seemed to be in thought.
    Suddenly she drew her knees to her chest and dropped her forhead into her arms. Her shoulders lightly shook and her fists curled into the sheets, tightly wrapping her wrists into them. Premidas first was a bit surprised. She was just so pissed at him, and now she was suddenly crying? Kanni, crying? He'd never expected that. But then again she had good reason too. "I'm just scared." she finally admitted in a muffled tone. "I'm scared what I'll do too." So she was afraid of her powers...why shouldn't she? She couldn't control them, she never knew what's they would do, she didn't know what their range or limits were, and she had the dark magician lurking in her trying to take over her. Hell, he would be scared too!
   He patted her shoulder, his feelings slightly warming up again. She slightly edged away from his hand. "I don't want your pity," she hissed. Tears were wetting her bandage and small slow trickles were easing down her cheeks.
 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  "I don't pity you." he answered with a sorrowed tone. "I merely want to comfort you." Her tears stopped and she quickly wiped her cheeks dry with her covers but didn't say anything. She was still mad at him, but at the same time feeling quite helpless. What was she to do? It was so much easier to hate him than to beleive his kindness towards her...but it wasn't fair. She wanted to hurt him. She wanted him to hate her sometimes, but it never worked. He always showed up, and it wasn't fair!
   Stop playing games, you dumb ass. Can't you see what you're trying to get rid of? What you're giving up? Prem, Alice, and Kaleb were her best friends...all her other friends came to fear her and her powers after she did something. But here, in this wonderful school, she was in heaven. Everyone had powers and she felt at home. Even if she still was a danger, even if she still was feared by many students. Even if she still feared herself. Why couldn't the dark magician just go away? He was ruining her life!
   Premidas's hands lightly rubbed her shoulders and he was completely silent. She could hear his easy breaths and could hear her own. All seemed silent. She wondered where Kaleb and Alice were...She wondered where her parents were. She wondered where Lori and Remus were...Heck, she wondered where her old self was, lost in the depths of her powers and growing mind. The shining soul that had taken the form of her younger self...where was that little girl now? Battling the blackness away from taking over? Where was he little soul she so often missed...?

Alice

   --There is no way a human was that cruel. The shape shifter was perched on the pane of the large, and opened window that had been letting in the cold breeze for several minutes. Her knees were drawn up, her head resting on her knees. Alice had been there perhaps for nearly an hour just thinking about what she had just heard about the great wizard Remus. Locks of her red hair were being fingered with by the wind and herself, still thinking. Strongly believing that there couldn't be a way for a human to be so cruel Alice found herself wrong on some points. There was a way, all that person needed were the guts and courage to stand out among others. Still, she didn't want to think of Kanni as some girl who was Remus, for that wasn't true. Kanni was only the recarnation of the wizard Remus. A chilling voice from nearby hissed, "Try all you want but now you're not going to forget that story so easily. It's frightened many I tell you and brings to them the prespective of Remus's power. Now, Kaleb I believe you had somewhere to take Miss Black. Lunna, perhaps?
   "As for your little brawling Clarissa has now been threatening to take away any powers of students who do not follow conduct. It's not her fault Kaleb, so don't give me that look. Brige again. Calling on higher authorities into all of this. And I wanted to do was to come back from the Pole..." The woman lifted herself from a fat armchair and walked to the door, examing the wood the doorway was built with. "But then again, I'll admit I was a trouble maker myself when I knew Clarissa way back when we were all your ages. Always after Gabriel for playing pranks on teachers, complaining that they all much get in trouble. Ah well, that's another thing to think about."
   And then Abigalle was gone, leaving Alice and Kaleb with plenty to think about. His eyes moved to Alice who shifted closer inside the building, perhaps scared of falling out of this window. It seemed too much to think about. Then again when examining what they had been through...He still leaned back on the couch, laying on his back wanting to know what Alice was thinking. It fell onto him to think that most battles to come wouldn't be helped by him or Premidas seeing how Lori was after some memory. Kaleb's attention shifted to Alice's shaky voice saying, "We can't beat him. We can never go against someone so powerful..."
   She was crying, allowing the tears to roll freely down her cheek while she rubbed them off on the knees of her jeans. The girl had been worried all along since the beginning of the story Abigalle had told them. Kaleb sat up, hearing her say more, "If Kanni is really the recarnation of Remus and Lori is there to help him then Kanni is lost. Unless we find someone stronger we're doomed. There is absolutely no way I'm dragging anymore people in this! If we die it'll only be us."
   "Alice, what you've gone through is something that most students would die from with what they know," said Kaleb, sitting on the other side of the window pane. "If you can do whatever the hell you did all those other times than we can beat Lori and Remus-"
   "But Remus is Kanni! Don't you understand? We can't beat him since the wizard always recarnates himself when death meats the rented body. There is no way," she took a deep breath, looking very upset, "That we can beat him. Maybe Lori but then Gabriel and Clarissa will get in trouble, and that's something I can't do!"
   "Do you know how stupid you sound right now?" He was grinning, seeing how shocked the look from Alice was. "I'll bet my own life that you and Kanni can find away to end all of this without killing everyone but two people, Lori and Remus."
   "It's not that simple!" Her eyes were now blurred with the wetness of her tears, trying to rub them away. With Alice it never was simple. First coming to the school was never easy, and now this. Her thoughts pursued to end it all with any means, but the knot in her stomach made her retreat from it all. A new wetness just then bristled against her lips while she watched Kaleb withdraw his head softly while whispering, "If you and Kanni can't do it, then we're all lost."
   [Srry, it's kinda short since today is my first day at school. Wish me luck! lol]
